An Advance Steel forum - GREAT - introduce yourselfHi all,
first of all I'd like to say THANK YOU to the ones that started up this forum. Finally, there is a platform where AS users can help each other!
Maybe it's good to introduce myself and the company I work for.
I'm living and working in Belgium (yes, that small country with 3 different native languages and no government at the moment ) as the lead cad designer for one of the largest stage building companies world wide. About two years ago I started looking around for a software package that would complement our all autocad based designing. After having tried several other packages (parabuild, prosteel and inventor) we decided to give it a go with Advance Steel. Upto now we are still not very deep into it, because of the lack of time and personnel, but I really hope to get my head around it during the next months (which promise to be quite calm). I have to say that v7.1 looks and feels a lot more "finished" then v6.1, luckily!
Our core business is the staging world, but we do provide all possible kinds of temporary steel/alu structures in a lot of other areas. We use a combination of our own square and triangular trusses, completed with custom built parts to accomplish the very specific job. If you see a big rock show, think about the steel back bone that is necessary to carry all the rigging loads. A few other very important factors are: transport weight and volume, ease and speed of assembly, because our structures are used all over the globe and assembled/disassembled almost daily.
Just to get you an idea of what we do: www.stageco.com.
Thanks a lot for this platform. I think it will help Advance Steel users all over the world!
Best regards,
Koen
