|
|
Hi !
I am new to A.S, coming from Parametric Autodesk Revit.
Is it possible to have structure that is parametrically dependent on Building Grid ??
For example, user creates Building Grid, adds levels (is it possible to add levels ??) and then draws elements based on newly created 3d grid, and all the main elements are grid dependent. For example.. if Levels are moved, all the elements that exist on levels, move along with levels; column moves ... floor joists move with it ... and so on.
Thanks !

Hi,
Welcome in our community
The answer is simple : No
The grids are independent. For level : You can copy your grid.
This is a "big" request and i suggest to you to post it in the request section. This is a real improvement and i think seriously that the development should read your request.
Also, if you have no problem with lisp script. I know that somebody created a lisp to draw easily column.

Thanks for reply Boboss !
My work probably will require constant changing and fitting
I got couple other "parametrical" questions:
1) Lets say,I have changed column height from 20' to 22'. Will this change propagate to dimensions on the sheet, or will I have to go back to the sheet and manually change column height to 22' ?
2) What is parametrical Joint ?? |

| for you first question any change you make in the model will be picked up on the drawings automatically as long as your sure to update them through the document manager. |

Ok, i understand
1) You have two ways..
- First : Go to "Document Manager" You will have at your left "Update required" then select the drawing you want to update and at your right, you have an "update" button. This will update your drawind and your list
- Second : Open your drawing and in the "label dimension" toolbar, select "update detail". This will update only your drawing. Don't forget to update your list after (update list button). If you use the second choice, be sure that you save your model (if it's open) after change to maintain your database up to date.
2) This is all the advance steel connection you can make automatically and you can save your setup in the library tab
Regards
Note : Sorry for my english, i'm a french user.
