Hello and good afternoon,
I've created a plan view and single detail on separate drawings. I've copied the detail into the plan drawing and have forgotten how to register it with the model. Can you explain this process to me?
Thanks,
Dave

Ok,
Use numbering toolbar.....sixth flyout and third icon...(register drawing..)
This is the only way to do this...
So, you told that you copied the detail from another drawing. I really don't know if you can but, try to register and tell to us if it's work

WELL turns out it was a different problem all together. AS fatal errored as I was manipulating the detail and caused the detail drawing to not be registered and when trying to reregister it the program said it was already connected to the model.
I created new plan and detail drawings. Did a copy base point with the detail and pasted it into the plan drawing, it doesn't need to be registered it works fine.
Thanks for you help, I've placed that in my tool book, I'm sure I'll need it at another time. |

Just a question,
Why you don't created your detail immediatly on the right drawing?
You can create your drawing and after, if you need to add a detail on this one, you can !
When You Begin to process your detail, choose the tab "existing drawing" instead of tab "new drawing" then reach for your required drawing.
Hope this can help !

| yeah that would make a whole lot more sence now wouldn't it. I guess I'll have to try that. It's been a long time since I did the training and I'm the only person in my company trying to learn it so I have a huge learning curve to overcome. |
